Gineta Swanson

I am a Speech Language Pathologist for PCPS.  I am currently working at Union Elementery School.  I have been with the district for 15 years.  Prior to this year, I have worked at West Middle School, East Junior High and Ponca City High School.  I have worked in the Head Start buildings and at Luthern School.  I served as the districts Hearing Impaired teacher for several years.  I have enjoyed the diversity of ages and settings I have been able to work with while being employed by PCPS.  It keeps my job challenging!

I have a Bachelors degree from Oklahoma State University and a Masters degree from Oklahoma University.  I am certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association. I am a certified teacher in Speech Pathology, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Mild Moderate Disabiolity and Severe Profound Disability.  I attended Autism Registry Training and have Autism certification.  My profession requires 15 hours of  continuing education yearly, so I have attended many additional workshops to further my education.

On a personal note, I am married and have four children, 5 grandchildren.  My youngest son graduated in 2016.  I actually have had a child in public school for 30 years and now have grandchildren in school.  Three of my children had special learning needs which were addressed through Individual Education Programs and 504 plans.  I believe they were given excellent support from their teachers and administration.

I enjoy my job opportunities and the challenges I have to keep Speech Therapy both fun and impactfull. My hope is to make a difference daily in the lives of children.  I will continue to grow and learn in order to meet the needs of the students intrusted to my therapy.
