Child Find - Preschool - Ages 3 & 4 Years Old
Preschool - Ages 3 & 4 Years Old
If you suspect your preschool age child is exhibiting delays in his/her development, then contact the district Child Find Coordinator, Zuri Mayo, at 580-767-8037. After gathering information from you, Ms. Mayo will set up a meeting with you, your child, and other school personnel. You will be given a copy of your parent rights and an explanation of our district programs procedures.
With your written permission, an individual, multi-disciplinary evaluation will be given to determine your child's educational needs and to assist in possible identification of suspected disabilities which may require special education and related services. The evaluation will be at no cost to you. No actions will be taken with respect to the initial provision of special education and related services to your child without your consent.
If your child is identified as having a disability under IDEA, and is eligible for special education and related services, then you will have the opportunity to participate in the development of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for your child. School personnel will once again go over your Parent Rights at the time of the meeting. Please feel free to ask questions and clarification regarding any portion of the test interpretation, eligibility, and the development of the IEP.
Your input regarding your child is vital to our school personnel and in the development of the special education and related services.
