FAFSA Information

  •  APPLY FOR FAFSA ONLINE

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA is the application for federal, need-based financial aid and Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grants.  Paper applications are no longer provided to us.  The U.S. Department of Education is encouraging you to apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov  instead of filling out the paper form.  It shortens the processing time from weeks to days!  In addition, its help screens and built-in checks can greatly reduce the possibility of errors or omissions that may delay the processing.  You and your parents should apply for FAFSA as soon as possible, but no later than the first week of March.  If you do not have internet access at home, you will want to access the internet through the home of a family member of friends, or use the public library computers.  You will need to make at least 3 trips to their computer.

1.Before beginning a FAFSA you will need to print a “FAFSA on the Web Worksheet” and take it to gather the required documents and information for your application.

2.Once you have all the information needed, you will apply for the FAFSA online.

3.You can return to the website to check your status, make corrections to a processed FAFSA or get other information.

Students are encouraged to apply for FAFSA whether you think you will be eligible to receive any money or not.  Most colleges and universities want to see FAFSA results before they will make any decisions on what they might be able to offer you.
